Naming inanimate objects is always tricky business.  There are the issues of originality, creativity, memorability and, of course, accuracy.  Orange Creamsicle may be one of the more accurately named strains I have had the pleasure of sampling recently.  Congratulations Orange Creamsicle strain-namer, you win a trip to Winnemucca for your accuracy efforts!

The Orange Creamsicle flavor glided on the inhale, with light-orange citrus followed by an earthy vanilla.  The flavor came through crisply and I didn’t experience any unexpected heat or harshness.  A nice cure on the buds was evident in the way that the ground buds transferred heat evenly but not too quickly. Upon the exhale, and after the big clouds, a bit of sour-gas-citrus was noticeable.

Though listed as a hybrid, the Sativa family of affects were the most noticeable to me.  A pleasant warmth in the chest quickly evaporated upward and began tantalizing the mind.  The creativity arrived a few minutes later along with a positive mindset boost.  This is a great morning strain; I didn’t find much of any drag after consumption.  Despite being more on the heady side, I found this strain was helpful with my nausea.  Some report using this strain for stress relief and depression, among other things.

The appearance of these buds is nice.  They are a vibrant green and emanate a slight, though still mystical, orange glow.  This might be due to the bright orange packaging on the jar. Either way, these are pleasant nugs to look at with one exception: a couple of the buds had a little more family leaf action than I expect out of mid-top shelf medical flower, but it wasn’t enough to stop me from tossing the whole nug in my grinder.  So take it for what it’s worth.

The jar in which Elude provides this strain is one of the nicer jars I have seen so far on the Utah market.  The lid screws on and off nicely and doesn’t grind or slip due to the child safety feature (some others do).  The packaging is also unique in the way that the exterior label totally seals the lid to the jar, so that the exterior packaging seal must be broken in order to open the jar.  This bit of extra security is nice and I appreciated it when I purchased an 8th of Orange Creamsicle.

Orange Creamsicle is the first strain out from Elude and, if it’s any indicator of what the Elude crew has in their pots, we have more good strains to watch out for from them in the future!
