Goji OG is a true banger from Standard Wellness. They are doing something right down in Corrine, UT. Consider Goji OG as a jack of all trades. It has the ability to both put you into a cosmic future trance or liven up your creativity and loosen inhibitions. Depending on consumption method, I attained different results from Goji OG. All observations lead to the conclusion: this is a good strain for an active weekend.
If you were to purchase some Goji OG in a state that allowed bud inspection prior to purchase, the first thing you would likely notice is the light bright green color and tight pointy velvet pillow form of the weed. Your nose would gradually catch the peppery skunk, along with some sweet pine. Some others have also found dark cherry, strawberry, and licorice notes. This sample was not a show-off on the nose.
Out with the monocle. Close up you see stout trichome glazed green. Its appearance seems to emanate potency. Once taken outside, you notice the bright neon-green color is especially lovely when viewed in the light of the summer sun. The light glistens off the translucent cannabinoid protrusions.
As someone who enjoys a Sativa, the buzzy 27.6% THC Sativa-Hybrid Goji OG was a no-brainer choice. And come on, anytime I get to say something as fun as “Goji OG” (three times fast, go!) I’ll take it. The qualities of this herb also tend to be on the fun side.
An unexpected conversation with my neighbor, impromptu writing break, and some time on the riverside were all well-befitting this strain. The first noticeable affect was an enhanced curiosity of my surroundings combined with a dash of convenient spaciness. This evolved into enhanced creativity, softening of personality, and a fleeting moment or two of over-stimulated paranoia. After ~45 minutes the cerebral tides turn and a positive calm mood is left in the creative wake. When my intent was to begin writing and putting thought into this review, I found that the process was enhanced by this stimulating strain. If you medicate due to symptoms of physical pain, I don’t know that this strain is going to be your best choice.
From my experience, if you are medicating with a vaporizer on the lower temp range (say <390), expect more of the positive, friendly, and curious Sativa affects. I cycled through the same vaporizer bowl twice at 380 degrees and could have tried for a third but decided against it. Anything above a 390 degree temperature will achieve the same result, yet, with the addition of some brief body-float affects. I found myself preferring to consume this herb on a higher temperature. Although I should note that it does tend to inhale on the hot side
While preparing the first dose of this medicine, I noticed the initial crunch of the grinder on the buds. This crunch could signify a little bit of a dry outer layer on the buds. Or, perhaps, the buds are so encrusted with cannabinoids that a crunchy outer shell is formed? I’ll go with a combination of the two. A little bit of crumb observed in the bottom of the jar provided more evidence for the first hypothesis. Once ground up; however, the resulting grinds were light and fluffy, not powdery.
If I were to rate this on a scale of 1 – 5 Thai Sticks, I would give it 3.5. Though I appreciate this strain for its creative affects, it was a little lacking for me in terpene excitement and the price is perhaps a touch high at $55 an 8th. It should be noted that most cannabis 8ths are sold for ~$55.00 at the Dispensaries right now, unless they are “baby buds” or otherwise discounted. My comment applies to some of those products, as well.
Perhaps it is because we are in the midst of summer, but this feels like a particularly summery strain to me. The bright neon-green color is especially lovely when viewed in the light of the summer sun. Any type of outdoor activity would likely be enjoyable paired with some Goji OG. Who knows, maybe the uplifting vibes will help you conquer some unknown challenges ahead.
