This quick review is about how I came to discover a delightfully fragrant, forest-tasting 1:4 CBD – THC sublingual extract from Dragonfly Wellness, and the wonderful things it’s been doing for me since then.

Tempting as the thought was, bathing in it wasn’t quite doable.

The journey began by registering with this link to first create an account, and then complete my registration for access to the state’s program for medical cannabis, all of which took less than 15 minutes. I then spent a quick forty minutes with a Qualified Medical Provider (QMP) to confirm my eligibility at the Natural Medicine Clinic (NMC) in Lehi, Utah.

Electronic Verification System (EVS) registration completed and with my QMP letter in-hand, I found a digital copy of my medical cannabis card in my Inbox the following day. Imagine how legitimately relieved I felt as a new medical cannabis cardholder.

To be perfectly honest, I was entirely unprepared and thoroughly pleased by how quickly my card arrived. I wasn’t aware that I’d actually received it until I checked my spam folder. And, there it was. Check your spam folder if you’re expecting one.

Once the near seismic shock of being able to legally partake of medical cannabis in Utah melted away, I gave some thought to which medicine I needed, and where I should go to get it. On a mission to find a full-spectrum experience I had Utah flower, possibly a tincture, and edibles on the brain.

Needing to take a jaunt as the pandemic rages, I went to explore things at the newly uncorked WholesomeCo Cannabis pharmacy in Bountiful, Utah. They nicely delivered on their reputation for product variety and quality. In addition to a delicious array of medicinal products, I also found a welcoming and modern environment full of supremely helpful people. Did I mention WhomesomeCo Cannabis is open Sundays, and you can also place orders online for in-store pick up.

While chatting at the counter with Rich Maloney, General Manager, I was told the space will only get better.

Though my first Utah pharmacy selections also included a bag of delectable 200mg HYGGE Grape gelatin cubes from Riverside Farms, and an eighth of smashingly yummy Orange Zkittelz flower from our friends at Tryke, what I truly want to briefly tell you about is my experience with the 1:4 Tincture from Dragonfly Wellness. What you’ll find is a fractionated combination of coconut and cannabis oils. And, believe it or not, it was also my very first taste of purity where tinctures are concerned.

I found this deep chill sublingual (meaning under the tongue) extract smells and tastes like a springtime drive through the Columbia River gorge in Oregon. If you’ve ever traveled through this area’s dank rain forest of greens, you’ll know what a heady fragrance I’m talking about. Quite gratefully, it’s amazing flavor was very much equal to its effects.

Incidentally, for those gourmands out there, I can’t wait to try it whipped into chilled coconut milk, which is what I sometimes use as a non-dairy dessert topping. Hold on, I’ll do that now, but I can’t promise to get back to you right away. Yes, as expected it was what I can only describe to you as mind-blowingly good.

With a ratio of THC/400mg to CBD/100mg I found a better day by dropping a few of its remarkably tasty drops into my dark morning java which it complemented extremely well. I also discovered a few hours of relief from swollen knuckles with a few drops on my hands after a long day working my keyboard, or an afternoon climbing the walls.

Of course, effects will undoubtedly vary depending upon the person, but I particularly savored its fulsome notes under my tongue, and the profound relaxation that went with them. As a longtime friend of cannabis, I would suggest people less familiar begin with small amounts, and adjust accordingly within your comfort zone from there. I feel learning is one of our greatest freedoms, and it’s an important one when it comes to medical cannabis.

Likewise, this Dragonfly Wellness tincture also enhanced the fruit flavors of Lime or Tangerine hard seltzers over ice. Personally, I imagine it would pair deliciously well with malty craft beers like Epic Brewing Company’’s Cross Fever, or one of my summer favorites, their Spiral Jetty. Believe me, at the end of the day there wasn’t a drop left in either my mug or glass because at every point,I found it to be the good stuff.

Of the three different ways I put this lovely extract to work in liquids, topically on the skin, and under the tongue, the latter ultimately won out as the most long-lasting and effective method. Try it out, this kind of medicine elevates life.
