Ogden Green Scene – your local medical cannabis pharmacy is finally opening their doors.

It’s been legal to sell medical cannabis in Utah for for almost two months now, but only three of the 14 pharmacies are open. The rest are expected to follow suit this summer.

One of those three is holding a grand-opening this week.

Perfect Earth Modern Apothecary, located at 3775 South Wall Avenue in South Ogden, is holding a “soft-opening” on Friday, May 1 for registered medical cannabis patients.

“We were honored to be the highest-scoring pharmacy applicant out of 100 from across the country,” said Mike Standlee, CEO of True North Organics and Perfect Earth Modern Apothecary, in a press release.

“We have taken immense care to build and design a world-class, beautiful pharmacy, where patients can feel comfortable getting the medicine they need,” Standlee added.

Patients must first obtain a medical card, or a recommendation letter from their physician to purchase cannabis products.

The recommendation letter will only be honored through the end of this calendar year. If you have already registered at another state pharmacy, you will need to continue using that pharmacy until you have finished registering with the state, and received your medical cannabis card.

Step-by-step instructions on how to obtain a card or letter are listed on the Utah Department of Health website, or you can read our Salt Baked City article from earlier this month.

Patients are encouraged to upload copies of their recommendation letters to Perfect Earth Modern Apothecary’s website before visiting the pharmacy.

This will save time and allow their pharmacists to process letters for patients in a manner that supports social distancing parameters.

Pharmacists will call and confirm patient letters with their physicians, and once confirmed, they will contact the patient to let them know they have been approved to purchase products.

“We recently opened our doors in North Logan and the community has welcomed us with open arms,” said Greta Brandt, President of True North Organics and Perfect Earth Modern Apothecary, in a press-release.

“Our team is looking forward to providing the same top-notch customer service and high-quality products in South Ogden,” Brandt added. “Our in-house brand, True North Organics, includes artisan strains crafted to be as diverse as our patients who use them.”

Perfect Earth Modern Apothecary is open 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday (hours subject to change). They are planning a large grand opening celebration for patients once COVID-19 social distancing is no longer required.
