The question has often been debated among Cannaseurs in legal states, and now the conversation is here. What should be considered craft-flower in Utah’s budding medical cannabis market?
This term is used liberally, somewhat muddying it’s meaning. Despite the various pontifications available on this subject, one cannot understand what craft is until you experience it. Enter Sin Mintz from Sugar House Selects.
Often when describing the effects of cannabis, the discussion is focused on the ways the plant changes our reality by adding various sensations, flavors, and mindsets. At low to medium doses, Sin Mintz effects tend to be more in the leveling and enhancing realm. In other words, it won’t make you weird. Rather, I found this strain helped smooth out the daily wrinkles and when the work was done it left behind a fresh mint’s mentality.
Dial up the dose and expect bodily vibrations and plenty of irie to go around. I found this strain to be fairly potent, needing less than I would have a typical sensi serving getting the job done. This shouldn’t have been a surprise, but it was. For me this was the moment when the craft came through.
Inspecting the label, it appears that this batch was harvested some six months ago and didn’t get through state testing until late September. This was enough evidence to justify the somewhat dry and slightly fragile nature of the exterior of the buds. Fortunately, none of this matter once the bud is ground and packed as it still heats up evenly. The inhale may be one of the smoothest I’ve experienced – Mintz found!
The buds themselves are a sight to behold: beautiful pointy green calyx, frizzy orange pistols, and a bouquet-esque appearance. The cannabinoid coating is easily identified with the naked eye. The size of the buds was also satisfactory; no popcorn here.
The smell test reveals the signature sweetness of the Cookies mixed with a faint hashy skunk, which tickles the olfactory system. As is typical, put some through the grinder to really open up the depth of aroma. Post smell test the optic system gets its own treat as the Sin Mintz slaw is a lovely green salad that leaves no trichome behind.
