Dad’s Elixir is a hemp-infused mixer syrup found in the outside recreational market that can be added to various liquids for an irie enhanced beverage. The syrup can be added to… well, anything.
The Dragon Fruit flavor was pleasant and has hints of weediness in the aftertaste. Taken straight, it’s a little syrupy and medically-after-tasty. I find the flavors come through nicely when the syrup is mixed with something even as simple as club soda.
The dose I took was comparable to what I would consume with other edible cannabis products. My dosing was titrated in two drinks, spaced around an hour apart. There wasn’t really a solid reason behind my doing this, it just felt like the right thing to do. Conveniently, the bottle has marks on the side so it’s easy to see how much of the syrup you are using. As expected, the first indications that the elixir was taking hold came around forty-five minutes after I first consumed it.
The impact duration of Dad’s Elixir was about 5 hours; 2 hours longer than edibles typically last for me. This could be due, in part, to spacing out the dosing, though I do think that the pure distillate formula used in this elixir gets a little more mileage than some of the other products used in edibles.
The dosing I took was perfect for what I wanted: an actively relaxing afternoon. Positive vibrations were aplenty, and I found a little extra bounce in my step while I wandered around the backyard forest. My recommendation is to take a dose similar to what you would with other edible products, but to keep in mind that the serving might be heavy enough to drown out your responsibilities, as the name implies.
