My name is Robert Hill, I’m the owner of Hill Family Farm in beautiful Price, Utah. We specialize in CBD hemp breeding, and as a Cannabis consulting company. We hand-select our genetics for breeding and terpene enrichment. We also develop strains strong enough to withstand Utah’s harsh desert environment while still producing top-shelf Flower in the Chemotype 3 form of Cannabis (Hemp). We proudly produce Beehive crafted hemp-flower grown with all-natural practices, and tons of love.

1. Selecting the Proper Site

First things first, pick the proper growing site. Be sure to choose a site that gets plenty of sunlight. Your grow site not only needs plenty of Summer and Fall sunshine, as this is when plants start to flower. Make sure your water source is close by, otherwise watering will be backbreaking work. Once the plants begin to thrive, their water intake will be much greater.

2. Test Water pH When Possible

Next, if it’s possible, it’s time to test your water’s pH level. The right water pH is vital to your plant’s nutrient uptake ability. In Utah, where there’s plenty of hardwater, and lots of chlorine, keep track of pH at all times.Test water pH each time you water plants because pH lockout can hit plants very quickly without warning.

3. Prep Your Soil

It’s now time to begin tilling your soil. Once the soil is tilled, we test its nutrient levels. If amendments are needed, this is the time to add them, so they can begin breaking down, and spread through your soil.

4. Germination Testing

If you’re running seeds this season, we suggest taking the time to test their germination rates. Germination reports are great, but unfortunately, they aren’t always accurate. You don’t want a report reading 90% without testing it yourself. What if you end up with only a 50 % germination rate? Your farm’s profitability could be greatly affected.

5. Begin the Cloning Process

If you’re growing from a Clone, it’s also time to begin ‘vegging’ them inside. Every farmer’s goal should be simple: Knee high by July! This is a great term to remember, and it’s been around forever. Follow this rule and your plants will reward you with great yields.
